A Salute to Our Heroes!
Join us at the Franklin Branch of the Johnson County Public Library this Saturday (December 8) at 11:00 a.m. as we salute those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!
JCPL is participating in “Our Heroes Tree,” a national program founded to recognize and honor the sacrifices of current service members, veterans, and deceased service members. We need your help to decorate our holiday tree to make this memorable tribute.
Pickup materials to craft your own special ornaments in honor of your special service person at then hang your finished ornaments on our holiday tree.
Make and hang your ornaments at the Clark Pleasant Branch lobby, Saturday, December 1, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
LTC James E. Elkins, Commander of the 3rd Battalion (LG) 411th Regiment will attend our dedication ceremony and give a talk on his time in the military. Refreshments will be served.
Open to all ages and no registration is necessary.
