Owls! Hawks! Skunks! Oh My!

Published Thursday, July 21, 2011 by Robin Martinez

Have you ever heard the phantom call of an owl in the evening? Or seen the dark shadow of a winged predator overhead? Certainly, we’ve all smelled the unmistakable, pungent scent of a skunk. JCPL would like to offer you the opportunity to come face to face with these seemingly ordinary, but nevertheless mysterious creatures.

UTOPIA Wildlife Rehabilitators Inc. will be at our Franklin Branch on Saturday, July 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. They will bring owls, hawks, and a skunk for you to meet and learn about.

Additionally, consider bringing a donation of diapers, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, or wild birdseed millet to assist UTOPIA in its efforts to protect our backyard neighbors.

To find out more about UTOPIA Wildlife Rehabilitators Inc., visit http://www.utopiawildlife.org/

The program is open to all ages. To register, please call 738-2833 or visit www.jcplin.org
