I Saved a Life Today!

Blood Drive at JCPL

Published Saturday, December 10, 2011 by Robin Martinez

Did you know that every time you donate blood you potentially save up to three people? How many times a day do you get to say you saved someone’s life? Not many if you’re like most of us. Well, the Johnson County Public Library wants to give you at least one opportunity to make that claim.

Only a small percentage of the population donates blood and, with the many natural disasters we have experienced lately, the need for blood donations is higher than ever.

In partnership with the Indiana Blood Center, JCPL’s Trafalgar Branch will host a blood drive on Monday, December 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

To be a blood donor you must:

be at least 17 years old (16 with signed parental consent) and in good health
Weigh a minimum of 110 pounds
Provide a photo I.D.

For more information, please contact Adult Services Librarian, Todd Jones, at 878-9560.
