King of the Nerdfighters

Author Visit from John Green

Published Friday, June 17, 2011 by Robin Martinez

Calling all “nerdfighters” and those interested in a good read! John Green, New York Times Bestselling author of Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, and Paper Towns, will be paying a visit to the Johnson County Public Library and its patrons on Monday, June 20th at 7:00 p.m.

John Green first exploded on the literary scene in 2005 with Looking for Alaska, the story of Miles “Pudge” Halter and the girl who transformed his existence from “one long nonevent” to the adventure of a lifetime. Looking for Alaska garnered the coveted Printz Award in 2006.

Going on to pen three more highly acclaimed books and inspire the “Nerdfighter” movement, which fights for “intellectualism and the decrease of overall worldwide level of suck,” John Green has become a force to be reckoned with in social media circles as well as the literary world.
