A Musical Tour of the World

Franklin Community Band to Perform at JCPL

Published Tuesday, June 14, 2011

A country’s music is the distillation of its culture. The flavor of its food, the passion of its politics, the depth of its literature can be all be felt in the pieces composed by a country’s musical artists. Join JCPL staff and patrons on Thursday, June 16th at 7:00 p.m. for a musical tour of the world’s cultures.

The Franklin Community Band will perform concert band arrangements of various pieces from around the globe. Genres will include classical, jazz, pop, musical theatre, marches and much more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and prepare to be inspired by this smorgasbord of international melodies. Refreshments will be provided by the library.

Assembled from Franklin residents both young and not so young and led by Regina Bollinger, the Franklin Community Band has performed at multiple venues in and around the Franklin Area including, the Indiana Masonic Home, the Franklin United Methodist Community, the Franklin Fall Festival, the Franklin Fire Cracker Festival, the Province Park Rose Garden, and the Johnson County Museum of History.
