At the 5th Annual JCPL Adult Spelling Bee

Published Wednesday, August 24, 2011 by Robin Martinez

Think you’re a master at spelling? The Johnson County Public Library wants you to prove it at our 5th Annual Adult Spelling Bee in honor of International Literacy Month.

Everyone 18 years and older is invited to put together a three-person team to compete in the most challenging spelling bee in the area. Diane Black will MC and JCPL staff members will serve as our judges.

The competition will be held on Saturday, September 10 at the Franklin Recreation and Fitness Center. Check-in begins at 1:00 p.m. with the Bee beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Registration requires a completed and signed registration form and a registration fee ($27 if turned in by August 26, $30 thereafter).

Pick up a complete list of rules and a registration form at any JCPL branch. You can also download the form at www.jcplin.org

For more information, please contact Community Relations Coordinator, Amy Kitchen, at 738-2957.
