International Literacy for All!
JCPL celebrates International Literacy Month this September.
September is International Literacy Month, a time to recognize the rampant illiteracy still present in much of the world, including the United States. The Johnson County Public Library, which has been planning events for International Literacy Month since 2007, invites you to take part in this year’s many exciting programs designed to raise awareness and get you reading.
Included in this year’s events are our 6th Annual Adult Spelling Bee, themed read-ins at each library branch, and a month-long scavenger hunt. Prizes will abound with the greatest one being a new appreciation for the ability to read!
Visit www.jcplin.org or call Adult Learning Center Coordinator, Wendy Preilis, at 738-4677 for more information on times and dates as well as registration information for any of our International Literacy Month events.
