Christmas Magic is in the Air

Published Saturday, December 10, 2011 by Robin Martinez

The magic of Christmas takes on a whole new meaning this year! Come to the Johnson County Public Library’s Clark Pleasant Branch for our December Tuesday Night Book Club Kids program on Tuesday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m. This month you’ll dive into Dan Gutman's wacky Christmas novel, The Christmas Genie.

On the last day of school before Christmas vacation, a meteorite crashes through a classroom window and a genie pops out. While holding the whole school hostage, he says that he will grant just one wish, but it has to be a wish that meets with the genie’s approval. The students quickly learn that they had better be careful about what they wish for!

Come join a lively discussion then enjoy activities and crafts that bring the genie and the students to life. Reserve your copy of the book when you register.

Open to grades 5-9. To register, please call 535-6206 or visit www.jcplin.org

For more information, please contact Clark Pleasant Branch Manager, Julie Bascom, at 535-6206.
