I Want to Paint Like Wassily!
Wassily Kandinsky Program at JCPL
Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian painter and art theorist, once said that painting had “... a fairy-tale power and splendour [sic].” The Johnson County Public Library invites you to experience that power and splendour [sic] at its Trafalgar Branch on Thursday, October 27 at 4:30 p.m. as we explore Kandinsky’s world and art.
Kandinsky is credited with painting the first purely abstract works. His compositions employ lively, jewel-like colors as well as elemental shapes that allows viewers to form and enjoy impressions of their own.
At our program, we’ll view slides featuring Kandinsky’s work then try our hands at imitating his unique style. We’ll also delve into stories and picture books that focus on art.
Open to all ages. To register, please call 878-9560 or visit www.jcplin.org
