Get Your Irish-Jig On!

Live Irish Music at JCPL's Trafalgar Branch

Published Thursday, June 2, 2011 by Robin Martinez

Warm evening breezes, a beautiful library backdrop, your favorite picnic food, and the lilting melodies of traditional Irish music—sounds like the ideal June evening! Join library patrons and staff at JCPL’s Trafalgar Branch on Friday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for our very own ceilidh (kay-lee) or Irish party.

Mac Bellner, guitarist, and Leslie Krom, fiddler together form the duo May Apple. The pair will perform popular Irish tunes such as “Molly Malone” and “The Fairy Reel” as well as lesser-known selections. Between songs, Bellner and Krom will also share with us other aspects of Irish culture.

May Apple is a part of Young Audiences of Indiana (YA) a not-for-profit organization that seeks to enrich the learning experiences of young people through arts in education. Their extensive roster of performers and expert educators perform shows and workshops throughout the year at various Indianapolis are venues.
