Irish Dancers of Indianapolis to Perform
If you’ve ever been awed by the dancers that perform in River Dance and Lord of the Dance, then this upcoming Summer Reading program from the Johnson County Public Library is for you!
The Irish Dancers of Indianapolis will perform at the White River Branch on Tuesday, June 7th at 4:00 p.m. The troupe will demonstrate Irish Dancing for library patrons and then, time permitting, will teach a few basic steps to anyone interested.
Made up of over 200 dedicated students from the Richens/Timm Academy of Irish Dance, the Irish Dancers of Indianapolis perform and compete throughout the Midwest in an effort to bring the challenging and lovely art of Irish Dance to audiences in the region.
The group has presented at numerous events and venues including the Indianapolis Irish Fest and the Annual World Irish Dancing Championships. They have also performed with international Celtic sensation The Chieftans as well as renowned fiddlers, Natalie McMaster and Eileen Ivers.
