JCPL Announces Winners of Teen Photography Contest
Johnson County Public Library has announced the winners of the 2010 Teen Photography Contest.
The first place photograph, by Will Schott, captured the sun setting over a rippling lake. A girl in a white skirt stood on a windy beach facing the surf in the second place photograph, by Elizabeth Ziegler. Esther Linn won third place with a whimsical shot of a wave cresting in a backyard pool.
The theme for this year's contest was water. Artists aged 12–19 submitted photos in June. The entries were on display in each JCPL branch July 5–23, and the winners were announced at a show and reception at the White River Branch on August 3. The audience at the reception selected Faith Potter's image of a misty mountain waterfall for special recognition.
