Storytimes
Storytime is a free activity designed to promote social learning and early literacy skills. In addition to reading along with a friendly librarian, children sing songs, perform playful dance moves and hand gestures, and work on crafts. Some programs also include short movies and snacks.
Here is an overview of the different storytimes offered at JCPL. For dates and times, check our calendar of events.
BOUNCING BABIES PROGRAM
This storytime, for children ages 0-12 months and their caregivers, is available at the White River Branch.
WONDERFUL ONES STORYTIME
This storytime, for children ages 12 to 24 months and their caregivers, is available at our Franklin and White River branches.
TERRIFIC TWOS STORYTIME
This storytime, for children ages 24 to 36 months and their caregivers, is available at our Clark Pleasant, Franklin and White River branches.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Available at all four JCPL branches, this storytime, for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, is our most popular program.
FAMILY STORYTIME
Currently available at our Franklin Branch, this evening storytime invites greater participation from parents.
FRIDAY FAMILY FUN
Available at our Clark Pleasant Branch, this weekly afternoon storytime is popular with all ages, including parents.
