6th Annual Spelling Bee

Celebrate International Literacy Month

Sign up now for the Adult Learning Center's 6th Annual Adult Spelling Bee!

Who: Anyone age 18 & over
What: Adult Spelling Bee
Where: Johnson County Museum; 135 North Main Street, Franklin
When: Saturday, September 8, 2012; check in begins at 1:00 p.m.; competition begins at 1:30 p.m.
Why: To celebrate International Literacy Month and to have a great time!

Teams consist of three adults (age 18 & over). Each team receives one white board and dry erase marker. Team members will have a sufficient supply of scratch paper to come up with the correct spelling of the word before writing it on the white board for the judges’ review. Three judges will monitor the competition. The judges’ decisions are FINAL.
Each word is assigned a point value based on the difficulty of the word. The team with the most points at the end of the competition wins. Winners will be recognized in the library newsletter, Connections and on our website.
Please complete the registration form and return it with your registration fee, payable to the Adult Learning Center. All participants must be 18 and over.
Teams will receive a copy of the competition rules and a Spelling Bee T-shirt the day of the competition.
We invite you to bring friends and family to cheer you on! We will have poster board and markers on hand to make signs.

Team Registration Fee: $30* per Team
*Early Bird Registration is $25 per Team, if completed by August 17, 2012
